Trigger finger is a form
of tenosynovitis, an inflammation of the lining of the tendon in the finger.
The inflammation makes it difficult to straighten the affected finger or
fingers. Many times the finger will pop or "trigger" out straight when
trying to open the fingers.
Anti-inflammatory medications
or steroid injections may provide effective treatment for a trigger finger.
However, surgery may be required to repair the finger in some cases.
