If you have been injured on the job, your treatment may be covered by Workers' Compensation. This coverage means that, instead of billing you for services received at the Hospital, your employer's insurance company will be billed and is responsible for payment. Like any insurance coverage, you and your healthcare provider will need to demonstrate a need for services and there will be evaluations on the progress you have made during treatment and at the end of treatment.
These evaluations are based on a testing protocol called the Functional Capacity Evaluation. The results of these tests are also used to determine if you can continue working while you are treated and, if so, at what percent of your usual tasks or responsibilities. The same measurements are used at the end of treatment to identify any ongoing limitations, described as a percentage, that will affect your work routine.
The staff at OHO is familiar with the rules and regulations governing Workers' Compensation services, and will discuss any concerns you have.
